The 3 day wildlife safari includes a half day game drive in the park in search for Lion, Elephants, buffalos, lion, Masai giraffe, gazelles and Leopard among others, and also a boat trip on lake Ihema for water animals like Hippos, Crocodiles and over 525 bird species.
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Akagera National Park
On arrival at the airport, you will meet your tour guide and then transfer to Akagera National Park. It is a 2-3 hrs drive, arrive and settle in Akagera game lodge. If time allows, you can take a walk to nearby communities, or do bird watching around the lodge as you wait for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Game drive and boat trip
Take a cup of tea / coffee and go for a half-day southern game drive alongside the Lake Ihema circuit to catch up with early raisers and predators returning to their hideouts. The game drive will reward you with big game like elephants, buffalos, lion, Maasai giraffe, gazelles, Impala, Baboons, Oribi, Butchel’s zebra, Topi, Bush baby, Leopard and Bushbuck among others. Return to the lodge for full breakfast and proceed to enjoy an afternoon boat ride on Lake Ihema that will reward you with large number of hippos, huge Nile crocodiles and about 525 bird species. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.
Day 3: Kigali city tour - Departure
Depart after breakfast to Kigali, visit the Genocide memorial sites, Kigali museum, art and crafts shops and local markets. Later proceed to the airport for your scheduled flight back home.
